Surgery, the only board recognized by the ABMS to certify plastic

Merrel Olesen, M.D., is the Medical Director
of the La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre in La Jolla California,
which he founded in 1988. He has over 25 years of plastic
surgery experience and is well known for the quality of his
surgical results. Dr. Olesen was Chair of the Division of
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the world renowned
Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla for 8 years
and is a past president of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society.
He has also been a clinical instructor for the Plastic Surgery
Division, University of California at San Diego since 1970.

 Lori H. Saltz, M.D.,
joined the surgical staff of the La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery
Centre having completed ten years of medical and surgical
training. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford
University in 1976, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from
the University of Oregon in 1980. She then trained for three
years in general surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami
Beach, and completed a three-year residency in plastic surgery
- a year more than the two years required in this specialty
- at Loyola University Medical Center in the Chicago suburb
of Maywood, Illinois, in 1986.

H. Michael Roark, M.D.
joined La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre with nineteen years
experience as a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He is the
immediate past founding Medical Director of The Alvarado Institute
of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Roark obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the
University of Calgary after graduating from the Oregon State
University. Dr. Roark completed his General Surgery and Plastic
Surgery residencies at the University of Toronto's famed Gallie
postgraduate surgical program.

 Johan Brahme, M.D. brings twenty-two years of surgical experience and expertise to La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, the last thirteen devoted exclusively to plastic surgery. Dr. Brahme was born and raised in Malmo, Sweden, and has a long tradition of medicine in his family, his father and grandfather both being physicians. Dr. Brahme immigrated to the USA in 1970 and settled in La Jolla.  Robert Kearney, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Though double board certified, he currently limits his practice to Plastic Surgery. His special interest is in Endoscopic Surgery of the Breast and Face. He was the first to introduce Trans Umbilical Breast Augmentation (TUBA) to the West Coast of Florida and prefers endoscopic approaches when applicable as they decrease recovery time. He strives to stay on the cutting edge of new techniques in Cosmetic Surgery.
