Micropigmentation

Micropigmentation is an ancient Asian beautification practice that creates a permanent makeup up look. Micropigmentation is a permanent procedure that is just like a tattoo and would require laser surgery to remove, so it is essential for patients to be sure of their decision to get micropigmentation. There are minute, metabolically inert pigment granules that are implanted below the epidermis for either cosmetic or corrective enhancement to create the appearance of makeup. Micropigmentation can be subtle or dramatic, depending on the goals of that individual.

Taking just 30-40 minutes to perform, there is no downtime associated to micropigmentation, with most normal activities resumed within one day. Usually two treatments are needed one or more weeks apart from each other. The pigments used for micropigmentation is FDA approved.

Micropigmentation only takes about 30-40 minutes to complete micropigmentation, and a topical or local anesthesia is used to alleviate the discomfort. Mild swelling can occur directly following the micropigmentation but will return to normal by the next day. Micropigmentation is a good option for women who have allergies to cosmetic make-up, but usually the procedure is used to just enhance features using individually mixed pigments customized for each person so that it will appear more natural. The final results are evident by the end of three weeks.

Following the micropigmentation the patient should avoid direct sunlight, resist wearing make-up, do not wear contact lenses for a couple days, and do not swim for several weeks. Rarely are reactions and infections an occurrence with micropigmentation.
